Prince rescues Snowwhite
JAN GERBER
An unknown Prince revived Snowwhite on Saturday, after she was incapacitated after overdosing on a poisoned apple.
The apple was laced with LSD. Police believes the apple was doped by Snowwhite’s wicked stepmother.
“I thought the apple tasted a little acidity,” said a relieved Snowwhite after the Prince revived her, seconds before he swept her away on his white horse to ride off into the sunset.
Snowwhite, the daughter of the late King Whatshisname, was kicked out of his castle by her wicked stepmother after the King’s death.
After wandering through the enchanted forest, she took lodging with the seven dwarves.
“We’re very happy that she’s all right,” said Grumpy, one of the dwarves.
“I told you that dope wasn’t mine!” exclaimed one of the other dwarves, Dopey.
Police believe the wicked stepmother plotted to kill Snowwhite out of paranoid jealousy.
“She told us a mirror told her that Snowwhite was the prettiest girl in the kingdom. So we believe she took copious amounts of the LSD herself,” said police spokesperson, Corporal Punishment.
“Let this be a warning to the kids: Stay away from drugs!” emphasised Punishment.
“I know nothing of this! How dare you accuse me!” hollered the wicked stepmother after she was apprehended by the police. “It was those wretched midgets!”
The wicked stepmother has been arrested on charges of attempted murder and the proliferation of illegal drugs. She is due in court on Tuesday. The Human Rights Commission is also investigating complaints against her for hate speech against the vertically challenged.
According to reports, all, except the wicked stepmother, live happily ever after.

In accordance with Arcadia's list obsession, here's my contribution: The Essential music for surviving studying journalism.
5. Bob Dylan
"Can you tell me where we're heading, Lincoln County road or armageddon." Anybody who can write stuff like this will inspire other people who want to smuggle with words. Some more good advice to aspiring journo's from His Bobness: "Don't follow leaders, watch your parking meters."
4. The Foo Fighters
Sometimes a journalism student needs to disappear in a haze of crunchy guitars sounds. "A little bit of resooooolvvvve, is what I need now!" Come to 26 Crozier Street, Stellenbosch. You'll know what Dave Grohl means.
3. Audioslave
Chris Cornell's voice sounds like whiskey tastes. Tom Morello's solos are absolutely crazy. Us journalism students are all a individualistic bunch, sometimes support like "Be yourselve is all tthat you can do" is good encouragement to keep the flame of individualism burning.
2. Bob Marley
"Don't worry, about a thing, 'cause every little thing, is gonna be all right." This is wat you need to be thinking during project week, or when your somewhere between Pretoria and Jo'burg, trying to plot a way home while in a car with two nazi's.
1. The Doors
My latest musical obsession. I've been listening to The Doors constantly for the last two weeks. I'm inspired (I don't what I'm inspired to do, but I'm inspired none the less).
"Show me the way to the next whiskey bar. Hell, don't ask why. Hell, don't ask why." I know why, but I ain't telling.

toe onnor ol die wiemen
gister was vrouedag, daarom het ons muizenberg toe gegaan en daarvandaan na simonstown per trein. ek het nie eintlik cool foto's gekry nie, maar kyk maar in any case.
dié moerse luiperd het my vanuit 'n boom bespring.

Toe hulle my sien, het hulle gevlug. Ek kon darem die wat te onkapabel was om weg te hardloop fotografeer.

through karen little's blog i've recently had the misfortune to find the blogs of a person who calls himself the real realist (i prefer to call him a drol).
i live in south africa. and i don't want to live anywhere else. and i'd rather live in south africa 2006 than in south africa 1976.
i'm not denying that mzansi got serious problems, and that the current rulers are not doing a particularly good job. i'd rather have them ruling the country than the previous lot (with the exception of zuma, manto and nqakula).
i know the effects of violent crime, but perpetuating the cycle of hatred is not going to solve the problems. it wil only destroy your soul, and those around you. reading the real realists blogs, it seems that there are a lot of people like this around.
violence isn't something that started in 1994. 1652 would be a more accurate date.
we live in a chaotic country. i see at as an opportunity to attain a certain degree of freedom (see previous post). i see it as an opportunity to live a life with meaning, rather than stacking up cash in some boring soulless place like australia.

ek het gister my eerste The Doors cd gekoop. ek moes dit al laaaank terug gedoen het.
hier's hoekom:
"I like ideas about the breaking away or overthrowing of established order. I am interested in anything about revolt, disorder, chaos - especially activity that seems to have no meaning. It seems to me to be the road toward freedom - external revolt is a way to bring about internal freedom. " - Jim Morrison
